SPECIAL ALLOWANCE


1. SPECIAL ALLOWANCE FOR CHILD CARE FOR WOMEN WITH DISABILITIES (w.e.f. 01-07-2017)

  1. Women with disabilities shall be paid Rs. 3000/- per month as Special Allowance for Child care. The allowance shall be payable from the time of the child’s birth till the child is two years old.

  2. It shall be payable for a maximum of two eldest surviving children.

  3. Disability means a person having a minimum Disability of 40% as elaborated in Ministry of Welfare’s Notification No. 16-18/97-NI.I dated 1.6.2001 and amended from time to time.

  4. The above limit would be automatically raised by 25% every time the Dearness Allowance on the revised pay structure goes up by 50%.

  5. These orders are effective from 1st July, 2017.

2. OPERATION THEATRE ALLOWANCE (SPECIAL ALLOWANCE) TO THE NURSING PERSONNEL (w.e.f. 01-07-2017)

  1. Operation Theatre Allowance (Special Allowance) @ Rs. 540/- per month is granted to the Nursing Personnel working in the following specialized areas in Railway Hospitals under the Ministry of Railways as per the recommendations of 7th CPC :

    1. All Major Operation Theatres
    2. All Intensive Care Units/Intensive Care Treatment areas
    3. Coronary Care Units/Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories
    4. Dialysis Unit/Ward and Transplant Units/Wards
    5. Intensive Care Units for Burns
    6. Tetanus Wards and Rabies Wards
    7. Paediatric Nursery/Neonatal Units

  2. Operation Theatre Allowance admissible to nursing personnel is subject to the following conditions :

    1. The allowance shall be paid to the nursing personnel for such period only when the concerned staff is actually working in the specified areas. The minimum period for working in the specialized areas will be two to three years.
    2. No Nursing Officer with less than one year of service is to be posted for duty in these areas.
    3. This allowance is restricted to 35% of the total strength of Nursing Staff of any hospital.

  3. The revised rates of Allowance shall be admissible with effect from the 1st July, 2017.
